Thanks to the Stewarts for hosting this gala event. Wekiva Basin crashed the Horseketeers for a whopping good time. Our numerous boys (missing from pic) were loving the porch games while the girls (our more assertive members) were perfecting their Santa stealing skills. I think the chocolate fountain and the gumball game topped off the party. Thanks to all of those who took the time to make this a great night!

Food For Thought:
"Allow your horse to be brilliant. he can not be made to. It must come from within, because of his confidence and pride in himself and his respect (not fear) for his rider." Bert Hartog

C2 and Up Clinic
Sunshine Region hosted a clinic at Green Acres for our C2 and up pony clubbers. Mary Frances Denton and Audrey Skelton worked with the girls on knowledge and riding. Highlights were some in-depth study of conformation and horse health issues. The weekend finished up with some exciting cross country rounds and the impressive pony attack at the water jump. Ask the girls about that one.

He's Talking!
Care Page Report:
Rolex week was a very good week for Ralph. He gained the ability to speak and although his speech is coherant it is not necessarily relevant to his suroundings. He does speak full sentences but is still not able to respond directly to questions or demands. He is still making daily improvements in his speech and mobility.

News on Ralph
April 26, 2007 at 01:12 PM EDT
Ralph's condition continues to improve. He has been moved to his family's home for the interim of the 8 weeks until he begins his long term therapy. His family are continuing to work with him on regaining his mental clarity and right now this can best be achieved in a home setting. It is still best for Ralph to not receive visitors at this time however, he does now have his own mailbox where you can send cards and letters to him. The cards and letters are read to him and saved for him so that is still the best way to send him your thoughts and good wishes. Please send mail for Ralph to:

Eventing Rally!!!!!!!!!
Get out of that dressage ring ...NOW!
Ashley was on a team called Weki Houndsnee. I personally give this team a blue for managing to giggle and smile through the entire rally. (Except the jog part) They had a great time together and lasting friendships were formed.
Alex did great with Bucking Basin team. They earned a 1st in HM and a 3rd overall! I personally give this member the bravery award for stepping into the unknown and making it work.

I personally give (i can do this because i write the blog:) this team their third blue ribbon for bonding together to solve social problems in a positive way. Very impressive.

New D1's
Congratulations to Jessica and Tara for passing their D1 rating at Lucky Trail Stable on Sunday. Alex and Vanessa did a great job with presenting the test. Ashley did a great job preparing the girls for the rating and Fanny did an excellent job behaving herself. Special thanks to Suzanne for supervising.

Update on Ralph Hill
Ralph continues to show improvement. Tomorrow he will be on a flight to Cincinnati Ohio to a state of the art rehabilitation center. There he will have the best possible care from people trained to deal with his injuries. Keep all the positive thoughts coming and he will return to us before you know it.

My HEROES for the week...
Not many teens actively seek out criticism. These three chose to go to a C2 and up clinic for that purpose. "Tell me what I can do better." was the question. The examiners, Karen Marcotte and Audrey Skelton brought with them a wealth of knowledge to help these girls. Another great learning experience in the Sunshine Region!
Proud of you girls!!!

Ok Horse and Rider on this one...
Leg is slipped back a bit but this horse and rider pair was said to be magnificent.
Rider said:
"I would rather live a short life of glory than a long one of obscurity."
Horse said: "I am not bronze. I am a beautiful black stallion".
